1 Change Down

Hey Everyone, Well I made it through my first change in Paraguay. I have 6 more weeks of training with my companion and then I will be expected to be able to get around this country by myself. This week wasn't particularly exciting but we did have a lesson this week with a lady named Raquel. We were teaching her the Plan of Salvation and the lesson was so good. We taught her that after this life there is another life where we can live with our families forever as long as we stay on the right path and contine to do what is right. At the end of the lesson we asked her to pray and explained how to do it. During the prayer she started crying. A lot. And afterwards she told us that she knew God was listening to her prayer and that she could receive and answer.  It was such a grat experience to be able to help her understand her purpose in this life and how she can find happiness. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a missionary and be able to share my testimony woth those...

Cabeza de Chancho

Hay Everyone, Well this week was super good. Although I continue to struggle to speak Spanish, I am understanding more and more everyday. This week was very busy, and hot. I have never sweat more in my life. It also rained like crazy for a couple of days but it is super warm still most of the time. It is a weird thing to be walking under your umbrella but still being just as wet as you would be without it becasue your are sweating so much. When it rains here the whole country basically just shuts down. Becasue everthing is outdoors, if it is raining, especially in the morning everyone just doesnt go to work or open up their shop or whatever, they just sleep in. When this happens we just have to be creative and go to new members houses or other appointments that we know will let us in. Anyway, other than that our week was pretty ordinary. The only other thing to report is that I ate some Cabeza de Chancho this week. Overall not bad but was a little strange. They guy showed me th...

Hay Ranas in la Capilla

Hey Everyone, I hope everyone is doing well. This week we had a lot of work and we were very busy teaching lessons. There are a lot of part member families here that want to come back to church and have kids that need to be baptized. We spend a lot of time teaching the families togother which is really nice.  This week was also great becasue of General Conference, espècially becasue I got to watch it in English! I just wanted to share one thought that I had while watching it. Elder Andersen shared a quote from Elder Hales talk that he preparedbefore he died. Part of it said, "When we have faith, we are prepared to bein the presence of God." I like it becasue it is so simple, sometimes we make the gospel too complicated. That doesnt mean we dont have to do anything though, becasue the scriptures say that faith without works is dead, so we have to be active with our faith for it to be valid. Anyway, I just thought that I would share that. One funny thing that happen...
