Concepción Bites

Hey Everyone,

I hope you all had a good week! Down here in Paraguay we are having tons of fun preaching the gospel and helping others to come unto Christ.

I guess the big news this week is that I got bit by a dog.

I guess I should start saying I am okay, it was not serious at all. Anyway, these past couple of weeks we have been working to build up our investigator pool. As a result we have been knocking on doors a lot and meeting tons of new people, which is cool, but it is a pretty tedious process. Well, as we were walking one day we saw a little offshoot from the main road with a couple of houses nearby. We decided it looked like a good place to start. We walk down and go directly to the end of the street to start and at the very first house we walk up to we start clapping outside (we don't actually knock doors sorry) and 2 little dogs run out barking at us. Well, that happens all the time and the dogs are pretty much harmless here for the most part,I know very few missionaries who have had problems with dogs.

Anyway, after about 2 seconds a big Golden Retriever looking dogs comes sprinting out with its teeth flared. I then felt a little threatened because it was pretty big. So my companion and I basically looked at each other and without a word we knew it wasn't the house we should be at, began to back up and walk away. Well as soon as I turn around, I felt a hard bite at the top of my calf and as I turned around to react the big dog released its grip and went back home. It was then that the owner came out of her front door and waved at us (she definitely did not see the dog bite me). and then we just left. The pain of the bite did cause me to actually want to see what the damage was, fortunately just some deep impressions of the teeth on my skin, but no broken skin. Also my pants didn't rip which was also a huge plus, so count your blessings I guess.

Love,
Elder Seibert
