First Week In The CCM (The Mexico Missionary Training Center)
Hey Everyone,
So for those of you who don't know, I am spending the first 6 weeks of my mission in Mexico City at the CCM which is the Spanish abbreviation for Missionary Training Center. I love it here, but I wouldn't think that I would. The food is'nt great most of the time, each day I am in class or studing language and church doctrine for about 14 hours and at night I have to fall asleep with the dogfights I can hear outside, street races and what I can only hope are fireworks going off all the time follwed by police sirens. But I really do like it down here. My companion is Elder Hansen, he is from Gelndora California and played Water Polo like me, and from what it sounds like his team was just as bad as mine.
My district (the group of elders and Hermanas that I am with for classes) is really great we all get along super well. My comanion and I also probably know the most Spanish out of anyone in our district which is nice becasue we can help everyone, and we don't feel like we are way behind. About half the guys in my district are going to Paraguay and the others are either going to Peru or back to the States to McAllen Texas.
This week has really pushed us though, on our second day here we taught a lesson, completely in Spanish, to our teacher who pretended to be interested in the church. It went a lot better than expected though, and we have been teaching that same "investigator" all week and Elder Hansen and I are finallly getting into a nice groove and can teach pretty well without too many notes. Hopefully we can continue teaching well and continue feeling the spirit during the lesson.
Love,
Elder Seibert
