Happy Mother's Day
Hey Everyone,
I hope everyone had a good week this week and a Happy Mothers day to all the moms. Here in Santa Rosa we had plenty of work to do. Missionary work is a little different out here. We live in a little city that is about 8 blocks big and to get to any houses where we will have success we have to either walk out about 2 hours in either direction, or we have to get a ride with one of the couple members that have cars. But the other thing is that most of the people that are actually interested in the church only speak Guarani. While I have made it a goal to learn the language, it is rather diffcult becasue it was never actually a written language until Europeans came in a tried to record it. Well as a result there are not really a ton of books to even learn it and no one really reads Guarani. So it makes it a little difficult to figure it out. But we keep on doing our best. I just feel bad trying to communicate with some of the truly indigenous people here.
This week we were blessed with some good new investigators which is nice to start out these next 6 weeks. We should be able to see some people progressing which is nice since we had kind of a drought these past couple of weeks. But I love Santa Rosa. I found out ywesterday that I will be staying in Santa Rosa wth Elder Taylor for 6 more weeks. Now the big quesstion is if he will stay one more change to finish his mission here or if he will get a new area for his last 3 weeks.
Love,
Elder Seibert
