Zone Conference in Concepcion

Hey Everyone,

Well to start out I should let you know you will not be seing pictures this week. I dont have my camera with me. But this week was fun and very uplifting although we did not get to spend as much time in our area as we would have liked. We got to go up to Concepcion on Friday mroning for our zone conference the next day (It is a 4 hour bus ride to get up there). The Elders in Concepcion are super fun though and it is always fun to get together in a group and have a mission sleep over. In the conference we talked  lot about how references are basically anyone gets baptisms. We need to talk to peoples friends if we want to have any success in Paraguay. I have definitely seen those trends here and we have always made a continual effort to ask people for friends that would be interested.

In other news I am now in Santani, and area about 2 hours bus drive away, we are spending pday here and then will be doing splits tomorrow. I really love my area of Santa Rosa. We have a ton of investigators and always have somewhere to go. Even if sometimes it is a 2 hour walk along the side fo the highway to get to our investigators. The work is progressing here in Paraguay and we have seen a lot of miracles.

Fun story for the week. Last night when we were waiting for our bus to Santani we watched a fight start. So the bus terminal is right by the main plaza in Santa Rosa. Well on the weekends, including sunday nights, people go there to kind of party and enjoy themselves. Well while sitting on our bench we saw everyone in the plaza run over to these guys who were yelling at each other. Well they were obviously pretty dunk and started throwing punches and we ended up getting a pretty good view of it all. The police came and tried to throw the guys both in the back of the police truck but one of the guys was resisting so much that they ended up throwing him in the bed of the truck and handcuffing him to the bar they had attached back there. WE watched themn drive away with two officers still standing in the back trying to control the guy.

The best part about it all is that the guy handcuffed to the back of the truck was actually one of old investigators that we had taught several lessons to but had to drop about 2 months ago. Pretty sad, but a really good fight.

Anyway, sorry to end on a sad note but we really do have  lot of good things going on as well. Hope everyone has a good week.

Love,
Elder Siebert
